(another) s3w debate story

so.. I came to SMAK 3 Week for the second time.

their theme this year: The 8th Wonders

my team consisted of:

- Stefanny as the 1st speaker

- Me as the 2nd speaker

- Kario as the 3rd speaker

just like last year, we had 4 prelims and quarters, semis & final after that.

for the prepared motions, they gave us 3 headings:

Religion, Indonesia & Electronic Lifestyle

1st pre-eliminary (vs SMAN 1 Tg B)
motion: THW ban Blackberry (prepared) as GOV
Single adju losing decision with margin -1,5

2nd pre-eliminary (vs SMAN 2 Tg Selatan)
motion: THS the us of torture in U.S. (impromptu) as GOV
Single adju winning decision with margin +2

3rd pre-eliminary (vs SMAK 3 B)
motion: THBT TNI/Polri should have their rights to vote (prepared) as GOV
Single adju winning decision with margin +6

4th pre-eliminary (vs SMAN 1 Tg B)
motion: THW criminalize homophobic movements (impromptu) as OPP
Single adju winning decision with margin +0,5

until the end of the prelim we've got +7 margins

quarter final (vs Ipeka Sunter A)

motion: THS the use of terror in protecting environment (impromptu) as GOV

Unanimous winning decision 3 to 0 (3 adjus) with margin unknown

so, here..when it came to motion preferences, me and my team were like "how the hell on earth my opponent chose this order of preference? it's easier for their position to debate about motion number two than ecoterrorism!". since I used to love being in the "good position" to be hard on ppl who hurt environment, my team did the debate kind of greatly (yah at least I guess so).. after the decisions we asked Dyslai why did she prioritize this motion and she was just saying "Ya ampun! gua salah preference gara-gara Glen!!" then we laughed out loud..hahahha

semi final (vs Ipeka Pluit)

motion: THW acknowledge all religion, faith and believe in Indonesia (prepared) as OPP

Unanimous winning decision 5 to 0 (5 adjus) with margin unknown

after facing IPSUN on the quarter..I just relieved, it's done, facing our own friend. but then, tragedy..oh..tragedy. it happened (again), we had to face IPLU with Glen as one of the speaker. the last time I faced Glen in a debate was last year's BL1TZ SMAK 1 Cup on Quarterfinal round, he did great with his british pronounciation style..and I felt so retarded, left behind by my junior high school's best friend -____-. lucky, we won :D

grand final (vs SMAN 1 Tg B)

motion: THW abolish all limitations on immigration (impromptu) as GOV

Split losing decision 3 to 6 (9 adjus) with margin unknown

I didn't understand what the motion is all about, I'm dying, telling my teammates "I'd better faint than got ashamed this way!!". but then, they forced me to struggle, but I stupidly came forward to the podium brought up my shameful points which are not my points at all because Kario just told me what I have to argue since I didn't really understand how this mechanism's going to work. I'm not into my speech, it's an argument without a soul from the speaker, no way it'll be great. I'm sorry mates.. forgive this awful second speaker :(

so.. again, I lost to the team that had Sindhu as one of them for the 2nd time =_____=

it was totally my fault, because I didn't know the case, I didn't understand the thing / issue, I've never even been abroad!!

though Kario (the only one in my team who's ever been abroad) tried hard to explain me about immigrations/visa/etc I still can't get the point.

I came forward as a second speaker of the GOV team, talking about nonsense I didn't understand! :(

it made our team looked so lame and it wasn't even a proper debate as a FINAL ROUND.

worst debate I've done in this competition was the final round.

great.. I ashamed myself hahaha! =_____=

even most of the adjudicators give me such bad comments when I asked for personal assessment,

one of the adjus; named Alun, said:

"All of the 2nd speaker's points are silly"

alias

"Semua argumen 2nd speakernya konyol abis" --> HAH, you mean, ME? it hurts my deepest butt, no, I mean HEART. I was about to cry, lucky I could hold it back :'(

the best speaker's Gabby from SMAN 81. congrats gab! you're cool! :)

but, then think again. I'm still thankful to all my friends who supported me, my understanding mom and God! :)

p.s.: this time we sent 2 teams; my team and 1st grader team. we're so happy because the 1st grader made lot of friends and seemed like they love debate as much as we do (L)

by its title we all know this song's made to aware the Americans for them, not to be fooled by the power of medias.

haha. but what's so funny is, I feel like this time it sounds "Sooo Indonesia".

mungkin karena kita manusia makhluk sosial kali yah? hahaha *alasan klasik*

kita bisa liat kok, sering banget TT di Twitter itu topik dari Indonesia. bingung nih harus bangga apa malu?

haha. yah.. kayaknya bangganya kalo kita nge-up topic bagus,

just a short story, how did I find this yummy thing.

so I went to carrefour emporium pluit mall yesterday to accompany my mom.

before we went there, first we left my little bro at IVAskincare to have some facial treatment.

hahaha. *evil laugh*

yah, it just happened like normal shopping..until I asked my mom if I may buy some probiotic products for my digestive-sake.

nah!

when I reached the counter of frozen-goods. a SPG approached me and promote this thing to me and asked which one I want to pick?

because this vita charm ice looked like something new to me, I'd just like to try!

and taraaaaaaaaa..nothing to regret.

now I'm a 12th grader and it's just matter of time for me to enter university.

first of all, I'm planning to do my best on 3rd grade, for UAN and school reports.

second; I still don't know which one I'm going to enter, and what faculty.

ok I suck :( so.. I hope I really can decide ones I'll register.

think they probably are public universities: UI, ITB, IPB and UGM.

that's all in case I pass the test, else, private universities such Atma Jaya & Trisakti.

I'll try my luck for scholarship abroad too, I guess.

maybe NTU? or China?

if I really am going to try entering NTU, I'm sure I have to join some extra classes in SIEC..

it costs about IDR 10 million (IELTS test is not counted, so it's much more than just 10 million).

and if I really am going to try entering public universities, I have to join BTA at sma 8, it costs

much cheaper, about IDR 3 million (that's still expensive tho haha)

I have to save lots of money.

is it that hard to be an adult?

so many anxieties, problems and dilemmas.

I'm just an immature, with many plans in my head,

GREENPEACE bermula dari sekelompok kecil orang yang memutuskan untuk bersama-sama memprotes pengujian nuklir di Amchitka, lepas pantai bagian barat Alaska. Setelah itu mereka melanjutkankan untuk membentuk GREENPEACE dan kemudian melakukan kampanye dengan mengutamakan isu lingkungan. Salah satu prinsip dasar GREENPEACE adalah "bearing witness" - atau menjadi saksi dan merekam pengrusakan lingkungan. Prinsip aksi langsung ini bersama dengan konfrontasi damai merupakan patokan dari tiap kampanye

yah, jadi begitulah kurang lebih apa sih GREENPEACE itu?

kenapa hari ini gw post ttg green peace?

jadi begini loh ceritanya, hari ini gw berkelana dari jelambar (jak-bar) hingga ragunan (jak-sel) hanya mengandalkan busway, bus dan angkot bolak balik.

berhubung ini pertama kalinya gw kesana, gw bener2 cuma bermodal peta rute busway dr google image >_<

oh iya, sebelumnya, tujuan gw ke ragunan adalah ke SMA 28, sekolahnya temen gw namanya yun, buat pinjem buku dan arsip2 hahaha.

jadilah gw berangkat dari rumah (dianter sama mama) hingga ke jelambar. ada halte, tepat di depan citraland, gw naik dengan bingungnya trus gw langsung menuju transit pertama, which's harmoni.

dari harmoni, gw melanjutkan perjalanan, tentunya gw tanya dulu karena gw punya 2 alternatif (ke senen, atau ke blok m? 2-2nya bisa menuju ragunan), akhirnya drpd salah memutuskan, gw berkonsultasi sama mas penjaga pintu halte (kata dia, kalo ke senen rute nya muter2, jauh; jd mending gw naek yg ke blok m), trus gw nurut aja naek yg ke blok m! hahaha.

harusnya.. setelah gw naek bus menuju ke blok m, gw berhenti di halte dukuh atas. tapi karena perjalanannya cukup jauh, gw memutuskan untuk membuka buku dan baca2 sedikit. tanpa disadari, mata gw berat dan menutup secara otomatis. gw akhirnya terbangun mendengar orang - orang pada keluar, dan gw memperhatikan sekeliling, kenapa banyak banget bus? udah kyk terminal aja? ya ampun itu udah di BLOK M, alias PERHENTIAN TERAKHIR. there's no way back, gw tanya mas nya gw harus gimana buat ke dukuh atas, dia bilang gw harus keluar trus gw naek busway lagi ke dukuh atas. berarti gw hrs bayar tiket lagi? ya ampun, keteledoran berujung pada pemborosan! kapok deh, ga lagi2 tidur di bus :(

trus gw pikir2, daripada suntuk mendingan gw beli kopi dulu, tapi karena gw ga suka kopi pahit, gw beli vanilla latte (apakah ini efektif sebagai pengganti kopi pahit? status dipertanyakan). trus gw beli tiket, naek ke bus, berjaga2 sepanjang jalan, lalu sampailah dengan selamat di halte dukuh atas. hahaha!! di tangga bus way, tiba2 handphone gw berbunyi dan gw melihat, ada telpon masuk, which's dari mama. dia mulai tanya gw dimana, udah ketemu yun apa blom, dll. trus gw jujur bilang klo td gw ketiduran dan sempet salah jalan, dia malah suruh gw cepet - cepet, takutnya yun udah selesai ujian dan gw ga enak klo dia nungguin gw, padahal kan gw yg butuh? jadilah gw buru2, sambil gw sms ke yun dia udah selesai apa blom. tiba2 di jembatan bagian atas, ada seorang mas2 berbaju ijo mencegat gw, gw pikir dia salesman credit card? langsunglah gw tolak sambil berlalu, begini kurang lebih percakapannya:

MBI (mas2 baju ijo) dan gw.

MBI : "bentar aja mbak.."

gw : "aduh, ga deh mas," (sambil dadah2in tangan pertanda gw ga mau, gw masih mikir dia salesman)

MBI: "kenapa mbak? gak peduli lingkungan?"

gw : "haaah??" (masih ga nyambung apaan sih nih mas2)

MBI : "iya jadi kita dari greenpeace, bla bla bla.."

gw : "maaf deh mas.. bukan gitu tp saya lg buru2 banget," (karena udah terlanjur bilang nggak)

MBI : "2 menit aja, mbak.."

gw : pergi meninggalkan si mas2 itu, sambil sepanjang perjalanan mikir, apa gw salah ya? gw belajar biologi tapi kenapa gw kayaknya mencampakkan lingkungan? *sialnya mas2 itu berhasil membuat gw merasa berdosa*

gw terus mikir sambil menuruni tangga jembatan, di ujung tangga ada mas2 lagi, sama pake baju ijo jg, aahh.. gw udah tau ini pasti dari greenpeace juga! tanpa basa basi pas dia manggil gw langsung nyamperin, berusaha memberi respons baik, abisnya gw udah merasa berdosa sih td :p

trus mas2 itu melakukan presentasi singkat ttg green peace, programnya, seberapa parah Indonesia udah rusak, dsb dsb, dengan gambar pula! wah gw jd tergerak, meskipun gw tau SDA emang udah banyak yang ancur, tp klo gw ga ngeladenin mas2 ini kyknya kok gw ignorant banget? akhirnya pas mas2 itu nawarin gw ikut greenpeace, gw langsung mengiyakan trus isi form bla bla bla.

begitulah kisah gw, accidentally joining green peace. -..-
